UConn Huskies Basketball

The University of Connecticut Athletics teams are called the Connecticut Huskies. The men’s and women’s basketball teams compete in NCAA Division I and the Big East Conference. The men’s team is currently coached by Jim Calhoun and has won three NCAA Championships, appearing in four NCAA Final Fours, winning seven Big East Tournament Championships, and are 10-time regular season champions. The Women’s team is coached by Geno Auriemma, has won 7 NCAA Division 1 national championships, advanced to 12 Final Fours, and won over 30 Big East Conference Championships. They have been one of the leaders in women’s basketball attendance and produced several Olympians and WNBA-All Stars. Both the Men’s and Women’s teams play at their home courts at the Harry A Gampel Pavilion in Storrs and the XL Center in Hartford.

    2012 Paradise Jam Travel Package Information is Available!

    Husky Fans, travel package information is available for those interested in joining the University of Connecticut men's and women's basketball teams in the Virgin Islands when the teams compete in the 2012 Paradise Jam. The men's team will play November 16-19 and the women's team will compete in the event from November 22-24. Game times and opponents are TBA.

     

    Demoliton Of Memorial Stadium Begins

    The demolition of Memorial Stadium began on Tuesday in Storrs. The former home of UConn football is being taken down to make room for the UConn Basketball Development Center.

    National Student-Athlete Day Celebrated At UConn

    The Counseling Program for Intercollegiate Athletes at the University of Connecticut held its annual awards dinner on Thursday, April 12, at the Rome Ballroom on the Storrs campus. The event is held annually to recognize UConn's top student-athletes and is a celebration of National Student-Athlete Day.

    University of Connecticut freshman Andre Drummond has announced that he will make himself available for the 2012 NBA Draft, foregoing his final three seasons of college eligibility.

     

    Lamb Declares Eligibility For NBA Draft

    University of Connecticut sophomore guard Jeremy Lamb has decided to forego the final two seasons of his college eligibility and make himself available for the upcoming NBA Draft.
